As we are all fully aware, the situation in Tibet is very tense and is deteriorating and world at large is apathetic.

The self immolations by our fellow Tibetans in Tibet, calling for Freedom in Tibet and return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is still going on unabated. To date, there are 89 confirmed cases of Tibetans sacrificing their lives so that there will be freedom in Tibet and the world will heed to the message sent by these courageous self immolators.

Tibetan Parliament in Exile initiated the world wide “Flame of Truth Torch Relay and Signature Campaign to high light the crisis in Tibet and to bring international intervention to resolve it.

As a culmination of Flame of Truth Torch Relay and Signature Campaign, the signed petitions are to be submitted to UNO on December 10, 2012 coinciding with the World Human Rights Day.

The Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey as well as other Tibetan Communities and Associations nearby New York are gathering in front to UN Headquarter in NY on December 10, 2012 to demand UN intervention and action.

To express our solidarity and support to the world wide effort to bring UN to draw urgent attention to the deteriorating situation, CTAO is arranging two chartered buses for volunteer participants from Greater Toronto Areas. Even though short of funds, CTAO is paying for one bus. We are requesting donations to cover the cost of the other bus.

We also request community members willing to take part in this historic event to contact our office to register their individual participation. We owe this much effort to our brothers and sisters in Tibet under China. Please come and let us go to New York together.

Tentative Travel Itinerary:

Day/Date: Sunday December 9, 2012

Gathering & Departure Point: In front of Parkdale Collegiate Institute, Queen and Jameson

Time: 8PM

Destination: UN Head Quarter, New York

Return:

Day/Date: Monday December 10, 2012
Gathering and Departure: Same and Destination

Time: 8PM

Considering the importance of this upcoming event in NY, we request participation and financial support so that we can stand with our fellow Tibetans and supporters and show our solidarity.

We also request to bring your valid Canadian Passport or Travel Documents with US VISA when you come to TCCC to register. To make our trip to NY smooth, we are as advised by US Customs and Border Services, submitting Bus Passenger Manifest in advance.
