Course Fee: $50 for materials & stationery ($5 per class)

Course Description
Prerequisite: None
This course is designed for Tibetan youth (high school youth) and young adults in the Greater Toronto Area, interested in learning the basic teachings and practices of Buddhism. In each topic of the course, the teacher will explore with the students how to apply these basic teachings and practices in their daily life to become more compassionate and loving towards themselves and others –the basis of overall well-being. Moreover, many of our daily problems arise from confused states of mind. As such, students will study methods and tools to cultivate inner values and enhance the wisdom of understanding reality to overcome deluded mental states.

| Week 5 | May 14, 2026 | Ethical Excellence: Living a responsible life through the practice of the Ten Virtues. |
| Week 6 | May 21, 2026 | The Science of Mind: Cultivating focus and awareness (featuring insights from Dr. Richard Davidson). |
| Week 7 | May 28, 2026 | Emotional Intelligence: Practical tools for calming the mind and transforming anger and hatred. |
| Week 8 | June 4, 2026 | The Heart of Compassion: Avalokiteshvara, the Mani Mantra, and applying kindness in daily life. |
| Week 9 | June 11, 2026 | The Light of Wisdom: Manjushri, the Wisdom Mantra, and deepening our understanding of reality.
Integration & Reflection: Closing ceremony, community discussion, and certificate presentation. |

Instructional Methods:
- The daily class will include lectures, discussions, group work, and presentations. And a Question & Answer session at the end of each class.
- A 15-minute guided focus/awareness meditation at the beginning of every session.
