School Code of Conduct

Students attending TCCC school must:

  • come to classes prepared, on time, and ready to learn.
  • show respect for themselves, for others, and for those in authority.
  • follow the rules and take responsibility for their own actions.
  • speak in Tibetan all the time.
  • submit all homework and assignments on time and complete to the best of their ability.
  • show proper care and regard for TCCC property.

Dress code:

  • wear appropriate dress suitable for the school setting and physical activities conducted in the morning. We appreciate if parents send children in Tibetan traditional dress chuba and shirt. However, traditional dress must be worn during important occasions.

Code and conduct:

  • refrain from bringing anything to school that may compromise the safety of others.
  • any form of misconduct and misbehavior such as bullying, vandalism, abuse are not acceptable during the class hours and within the TCCC premises. In the event of such act occurs, students will be given a warning and parent will be notified. After three successive warnings, parents will be notified to withdraw the child from the program.

Cell phone or screen policy:

  • we discourage the use of cell phones and other screen devices such as ipads, tablets or gadgets (except for educational purposes) during instruction time in the class. If a student is found using cell phone/ gadget in the class, teacher will issue a warning first time and second time the phone will be taken away and returned after the school. If students repeatedly fails to implement this policy (after fourth incident), a meeting will be scheduled with parents to discuss the matter and explore options to support students. Teachers at their discretion can allow students 10 mins of “screen break” at the end of lesson as a positive reinforcement.

Attendance policy:

  • Coming to school regularly is important for children learning. It is also to demonstrate children that the study of Tibetan language is not less important than other activities. Parents must make sure children attend school everyday.  If children get sick or some reasons they can not come, parents must report absence to class teacher via email, WhatsApp or phone.

Punctuality:

  • Children must arrive at School before 9. 55 am. This is important for the smooth functioning of the school, and also to establish school routine for the benefit of children learning and confidence. Morning assembly is also an important part of school where children engage in prayer and meditation sessions, which are crucial life skills children learn to enhance their inner competence and succeed in life.  Children who repeatedly arrive late, a meeting will be scheduled with parents to discuss how parents and school can work together to support.

Dismissal:

  • It is a responsibility of parents to pick up their children on time. The language class will end at 1 pm for lunch and parents must arrive on time to sign out children from the class. They are also responsible for supervising children during recess and lunch time.
