Virtual Losar Celebration – Metal Ox Year 2148

Children learn how to make Khapse as demonstrated by Gen Palden Wangmo la.

On the first day of spring semester (Feb 7, 2021), children and teachers observed and celebrated Tibetan Losar 2021 via video conference. Children, wearing traditional Tibetan dress chupa and shirts, participated actively in fun-filled activities like making khapse with dough, preparing gu-thuk and learning about Lo-tak (Zodiac). Kids also sang popular Losar Tibetan songs by Techung and Tsering  Gyurmey, played through WebEx.

Tsering Wangyal la, President Tibetan Canadian Cultural Center, Toronto addressed the children and participated in the event. Language teachers are appreciated for thier effort in making this event successful. The event came to an end with children becoming more enriched with the knowledge of Tibetan culture and tradition related to Losar.
